Back in the States!
Back in the States!
Note: I would like to apologize for not posting the last several weeks of my internship. I kinda fell off the wagon as things got really busy the last couple weeks. I just arrived safely home yesterday back in D.C. and reconnected with family in Annapolis.

I am now on the very last stretch of my internship here. I am astounded at how fast it's gone by. I return to Chiba today and on Monday my internship will officially end, though I will be spending a week with friends before leaving the country.
Right now, I am gearing up for the last of four days serving in Nagoya. The team here is a group of amazingly talented people who are all using their gifts to serve the purpose of the gospel. We are helping them wrap up their annual music/vbs camp called Kids Gospel. I love this style of ministry as it's a great way to expose kids to the gospel for the first time and connect families to the church. Every day the campers have been practicing various gospel songs (complete with dance moves :P) for a concert at the end of the week.

Back in Chiba and at the airport! Just said my final goodbyes to my friends from the church and school. The Nagoya music camp went really well!
This will likely be my last post while here in Japan, but I will try and write one more after arriving home to reflect on my time here.
I want to thank everyone who helped me get to take this opportunity. My time serving here has taught me a lot and helped make me more confident in God's strength.
Just like many people told me, my own sin was a lot more exposed as I was taken out of my comfort zone. Though God showed me just how weak and sinful I can be, he also gave me a vision for how I can use each of my passions and skills to serve him. I was able to use my music to play on the Honda Chapel praise team. I used art to connect with my students in english and art classes, and it really came in handy while decorating for the various camps. My love for learning Japanese definitely helped me to form more relationships with people at church and school, despite the fact that I'm still lacking greatly in skill.
I will be posting a final blog post soon with my reflections on the past summer. Thanks for reading!
